On Tuesday, April 4, 2016, we had a Garage Pill held by Jaume Villanueva (Professor at ESADE Department of Strategy and General Management) at E-Garage. During the presentation we examined some of the most common strategies that entrepreneurs utilize to gain access to external resources.
Getting resources, especially financial resources, is one of the most important activities new ventures must engage in. It is also one of the most challenging, as potential resource providers (investors or lenders) are not easily persuaded to bet on unproven new organizations that often lack a previous track record, collateral, a defined market or a fully developed product or service. Yet many entrepreneurs still manage to persuade resource providers, or find other ways to gain access to the resources they need.
