Carnaval: A Latin American Fiesta

Just before sunset on Saturday March 18th, over 200 ESADE students, significant others, and friends came together to celebrate Latin American culture in a BIG way on the rooftop of Club Catwalk with an ocean view! A Colombian Carnaval brought with them dancers and costumes for attendees to get into a festive mood, while a Brazilian band played us into a wild night of celebration. In between acts, ESADE’s own Camilo Afanador DJ’d popular Latin music as Colombian and Brazilian snacks were passed around including empanadas and pelotas de queijo.

Events like Diwali and Gastrofest have become signatures of ESADE’s MBASA, and the Latin American Business Club may have just established another signature event after the success of our Carnaval fiesta. The rumors of this fiesta began spreading in early February, but in true Latin American style, our board members (and a large number of beloved volunteers) pulled together a hugely successful event in a matter of two weeks. Without the event planning of the LatAm board’s Event’s VP, Juliana Gomez, the drive of our President Marcos Stuart, the coordination of our Finance VP Alvaro Valdez, and the sales of one of our Career’s VP’s Bruno Pena, the event would not have been possible, so a round of applause to all of them!
