Retail & Luxury MBA Career Forum in Bocconi

The biggest event for MBA students in Europe, interested in the luxury and retail industry for future professional development was organized in its second edition during the first days of March.

The event was held in SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan. Having the opportunity of attending the event in Milan, the worldwide epicentre of fashion and luxury, and sharing experiences with peers from the best business schools in Europe, such as LBS, Bocconi, IESE, Insead, HEC and of course ESADE to demonstrate top companies our energy and interest; generated big hopes.

These expectations were quickly exceeded, firstly with a great presentation from the global consultancy firm Bain & Company, about the coming years of the industry and its trends. This presentation placed us in context and was the starting point to approach the different company presentations. Top players from the industry attended the forum, such as LVMH, Kering Group, Nike, Desigual, Moncler, Richemont, PVH among others.

Beside from the presentations, in parallel, each company had their booths open to approach them, solve doubts, network and generate a future job possibility. It was an intense day, full of new insights, knowledge, and networking, in which at the end we shared during a relax event with a glass of champagne.

The industry, historically has been reluctant to hire MBAs, believing in a training from early graduate, but the industry is growing, is digitalizing, is becoming data oriented and need sustainable strategies to succeed in a more globalized and competitive world, so they are open more than ever to involve future MBA graduates in their roster, therefore this occasion was great to build stronger relationships between MBA schools and luxury/retail companies.

We are now expecting next year 3rd edition of the Forum, and working hard to make this event in Barcelona, in no other place that the ESADE Campus.
