Last day of class… can you believe it?

Around 10 months ago we had our first class as a Section. We didn’t know each other much… now we do a lot. 2 days ago we had the wrap-up of the evolution of a group of individuals into a group of friends, almost relatives. How many things we have shared and not only academic… talking everyday with people from 45 different countries is a pleasure and the real learning experience.

Two days ago I had the opportunity to talk to the whole class. I had so many things to say… I could only say thank you for making this year so unforgettable. Mike did a really good compilation of images. When looking at them each of us was able to re-live them… that was an awesome gift.

I am proud to say that now I am a better person (knowledge aside) and that’s thanks to the commitment of every single Esadian giving his/her utmost to make this year an awesome experience.

This is our last day of class together. Some will leave for internship, some others will finish the MBA in 3 months, some others will go on exchange and we all will meet again and graduate in March 2012.

Now it’s time for you, Class of 2013, to live the ESADE MBA in the best way you can. We’ll be around to help you with anything you need, of course (still some classes to take!), but be ready to enjoy it.

Thanks to all (moments, people, groups): b-ers, a-ers and c-ers, Sport Business, Technology, Consulting and NI clubs, MBASA, MBASA Social Affairs, Gastrofest, Gala Party, dinners, parties, case competitions and team peers, breaks, basketball and running club, spring games teams, marketing team, program management, receptionists and everyone involved in the maintenance of the building , cafeteria and carpa people, presentations, advisors, 2nd years (already graduates!), smiles, hugs, kisses and tears.

Go ESADE Class of 2012 and best of luck in future challenges. Now it’s our responsibility to make a better World for all!

Easter time

It has been a long period without any long rest. In fact, Term 2 ended a month ago and Term 3 started just the next Monday. This is the time to relax a little bit (not much because Global Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Management of Information Systems are waiting for our assignments next week) and to look back and forward at the same time.

Back to remember the teams representing ESADE at Aspen Case Competition (3rd position!!!) and Novartis Case Competition and also the concepts learnt. We have changed teams again and it is a really good opportunity to know other ways to face challenges.

Forward to see how we have one month and something to start holidays / internship period (18 months or 15 month professional track).

This means that there is no time to stop… Show must go on!

Enjoy your holidays

Sunny April

Spring is here and most people take advantage of breaks to go to the great terrace ESADE has to enjoy the nice weather!

First of all, big congrats to Andrea Kollmorgen, Erkki-Antti Sadinmaa, Charlie Ballard and Ricard Vila who have reached the final of the Aspen Case Competition happening in a week in New York. Also to Alex Dobres and Mike Yu who reached another final, the Novartis Case Competition one happening exactly the same day.

Last week, ESADE hosted the Graduate Business Conference (http://gbc.esadembasa.com/gbc2011.html). It was an intense week with leaders in the Student Associations from top-MBA universities from around the World.

Another exciting event is the Quest for Talent (http://www.quest-for-talent.com) promoted by the Entrepreneurship club. This event aims at providing an open talent platform for growth companies, entrepreneurs and MBAs from Europe’s best business schools.

We have heard that some 2013 class members are already looking forward to come to ESADE. It’s nice to read the energy and the amazing backgrounds. I feel like that one year ago I was in the same situation so I can understand the doubts and the excitement. Welcome!

Big events!

This weekend two big events are happening. First one is Aspen Competition. In these, 4 teams of 4 people are working for a position in the second round, which leads to a final of 5 teams in New York City. It’s a real business with a real possibility so it makes it even more interesting.

Second one is IESE Spring Games. Different business schools competing for trophies in sports. By now, we have some gold and bronze medals. Not bad at all!

Last but not least, on Friday Class of 2011 graduated. It’s something that means that in one year we’ll also be graduated. It’s amazing how fast this is going. A lot of us are thinking in that moment also and how special is what we are living.

For everything as a whole… go ESADE!
